Basketball Registration Schedule

Home Games

West Virginia University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will welcome fans back to the WVU Coliseum for the first time this basketball season when the Mountaineers host the Florida Gators on Saturday, Jan. 30. The venue will operate with a limited capacity of 1,000 spectators as part of the health, safety and wellness measures implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The student ticketing process for the Florida game will begin Thursday, Jan. 28 from 9:00 a.m. -midnight. Student eligibility remains the same as it was for football season. All undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a traditional degree program are eligible to request tickets.

Student seat total at the WVU Coliseum will be limited to approximately 250 seats between upper and lower sections. After applying a physical distancing seating model, the student sections have been changed for this season to increase the amount of seats available in the lower level. The lower level student sections will now be sections 114, 115, 116, 101 and 128.

The 250 student tickets will be distributed in a reserved seating format, instead of general admission seating as in prior years. These seats will be in blocks of two, and physically distanced throughout sections 114, 115, 116, 101, and 128 in the lower level as well as 226-230 in the upper level. Students must sit in the reserved seat listed on their ticket.

Due to high demand and limited seating capacity to accommodate physical distancing, each home game will likely go into lottery selection. In an effort to give as many students as possible the opportunity to experience a Mountaineer basketball game day this season, no previous loyalty points will be factored into the lottery system. Also, no loyalty points for the 2021-22 season will be accumulated from attending games this year.

Each student who wants to attend a home game must request during the request phase. If a requesting student is selected in the lottery process, they will be awarded two (2) tickets – one student ticket to use for entry and one guest ticket to be transferred to a WVU student.

The guest ticket must be transferred to the MIX account of a current WVU student who is eligible to receive student tickets for athletic events through the ticketing system. Only the guest ticket can be transferred, and it can only be transferred to current WVU students with MIX email addresses. NO outside guests will be permitted. The sale, or attempted sale, of student tickets or guest tickets is prohibited, as is the alteration, duplication or replication of student tickets. Any student found in violation of these policies will be referred to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities.

The student ticketing schedule for remaining home games is available at http://www.WVUGAME.com/students.

The ticketing request timeline will be as follows:

  • REQUEST PHASE

This is when any eligible WVU student may request tickets for that game.

  • CLAIM PHASE

Following a lottery selection, students will be notified if they were selected to receive two tickets and must "claim" those tickets that day to add them to their account. They then can transfer their guest ticket online to a WVU student who can attend the game with them and sit in the accompanying seat. Students who do not claim their tickets on this day by 11:59 p.m. will lose their tickets; these tickets will go back into the student ticketing pool for other students to claim on a first-come, first-served basis in the on-demand phase.

  • ON-DEMAND PHASE

* Students not selected in the lottery must wait until the on-demand phase for an opportunity to claim any tickets from students who were initially selected but did not claim their tickets. These unclaimed tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the on-demand phase.

Students who receive tickets for basketball games are subject to all University health and safety policies, Student Code of Conduct, stadium guidelines and other conduct as outlined in the student ticketing FAQs.

More details are available on the Student Ticketing website. All students who want to request tickets should log in and familiarize themselves with their account at www.WVUGAME.com/students.

WVU's venue capacity plan will be continually evaluated and adjusted throughout the season. Fans will receive updated information about any changes due to the status of the COVID-19 pandemic on the WVU campus and in the local community.
